INTRODUCTION TO THE TOWN OF RHEINE |
The town of Rheine is located in the northeast of Germany, very close to the Holland border and such important cities as Munster, where the treaty of Westphalia was signed; Hamburg, the most important port of the country and Cologne, city of an enormous cultural, historical and artistic interest. On one hand, the whole area belongs to the most active economic region of Europe, where the narrow relationships among countries make the existence of frontiers forgotten. A huge net of roads link Holland and Germany, so that Amsterdam— the city of canals, of great artistic and cultural interest as well as the most important continental port— is just one and a half hours away.
On the other hand, the town of Rheine is very quiet and in the everyday life of the youth sports activities are important.
